Try Soul Calibur 4. It's an awesome fighting game and you can create your own character.
Some online MMORPGs. You can create your own character on almost all of these games. I like Toontown personally.

World of warcraft is fun if you are looking for gameplay, but not so much graphics or customization of your character. If you like better graphics or more character customization then I recommend guild wars.

Final Fantasy 11, it has a good story and beautiful scene!
the Sims 3 is more interesting than the others sims, you probably have a try!
