This Christmas for me has been all about giving back. I was wondering if anybody knew any websites where you could play games and either the more you win or the higher you score they more money that goes to charity...if you know of any PLEASE answer because I really want to give back :DAre there any online games I can play to raise money for charity?
www.freerice.com. Or, why not get out and do something rather than play a game? Volunteer at the local food pantry, soup kitchen, domestic abuse shelter, or homeless shelter. Read at the library, have a story hour. Read at the local hospital in the waiting room. Help at the animal shelter or humane society.
If you can't do that; have a food drive; "Oodles of Noodles" is a pasta drive that is usually very successful for the food pantry. Collect new toothbrushes and hairbrushes for the domestic abuse shelter. Collect blankets, hats, gloves for the homeless shelter. Collect used blankets and towels for the animal shelter.
The need is great; the opportunities are endlessAre there any online games I can play to raise money for charity?
There's a free online game site called iWon that has team challenges that support various charities. You can join any team you wish. Last year I was part of the Toys for Tots national charity team. This year I'm part of a member created team called Wounded Warriors. (We're in first place in the member created teams category right now) The first place team every month gets money donated to their charity by iWon.
You do have to be careful with iWon though and only play the free games as you unlock them by earning points/coins and increasing your player level. You can download something that automatically unlocks ALL of the games there, but it's spyware and will make your anti-viral software freak out. It won't harm your machine but it will track everything you do for marketing purposes. Most websites track you nowadays anyway, just most aren't as obvious or blatant about it as iWon can be. Like I said though, as long as you don't take their free upgrade via download, it's no worse (or better) than any other site on the net.
Like all free things on the net, it has it's good and bad points and annoying commercial breaks. However, if you want to help kick some cash to a charity while playing any game on their site you wish and chit chatting with people, it's not a bad place. Are there any online games I can play to raise money for charity?
Fraid not, you usually have to do something worthwhile to raise money for charity.

Your score results in grains of rice, not points.
