I'm doing a project at school on how video games can effect your health and one of the questions I need to answer is how much money the average teen (or parents of one) spend on video games each year. Couldn't find it on any websites so decided to ask here.How much money does the average teen spend on video games each year?

I'm a adult gamer and I spend about 40.00 to 80.00 a year which is usually 2 games a year. The games are around 50.00 or 60.00 when they first come out and decrease with time. The only thing i would suggest for parents who have kids that are playing video games is to set a gaming time eachday like a hour a day then do choirs and homework. If your child is playing to much and grades are suffering its time to put your foot down and set a time limit for playing, other than that I think its fine for kids to play.How much money does the average teen spend on video games each year?
well im a gamer, And on average about 4 to 5 good games come out a year. Like this year im getting Crisis 2

portal 2 dragon age 2 , Skyrim and star wars the old republic. Thats more or less $100 a game making it $500, and Star wars will have a monthly fee so another $120. making the grand total $620 a year.
Well i buy sparingly, maybe 1500 to 2000 TT that is about 200US. Here in trinidad games are expensive. About 200TT mark up. So i would buy about 4 games a year.

But for some American stereotype it maybe be around 300us to 500us depending on financial status.

what you mean is how much do parents spend buying their spoilt kids the video games?
It depends on the person. I spend around $90. I only play World of Warcraft. The past $120 I spent on the game was Game Stop store credit I received from selling my old video games.
I spend about 160 dollars a year. Im 15
im 14 i spend $120 to $225 a year.
