Do you think pre ordering games is a waste of money?

Back in August, I asked my dad for money to pre order batman arkham city. But he told me that pre ordering games isn't economically smart. Do you agree with him?Do you think pre ordering games is a waste of money?
actually preordering is very smart instead of having to pay 60 dollars upfront you can spend 5 bucks here and there when you have it and when it comes out its paid for without leaving you broke but 60 bucks at one time can be a strain on the wallet so yea its smarter to preorder unless its a cheap 20 dollar game plus by preordering you get extra things that if you wait for you wont get unless its a dlc thing and even then you might not get it
If you plan on getting the game right when it comes out anyway then there's really no change in the price. Preordering the game just makes sure you get it.

The only way to buy the game from a store cheaper than the original release is to wait until someone turns it in used. From my experience, usually the older the game is the cheaper you can buy it used unless it's still really popular years later.

But again, that's not really an option if you want it right away.Do you think pre ordering games is a waste of money?
Yes I agree with your dad. Video games are far too expensive these days to just automatically buy it before anyone knows anything about its quality. You should listen to what people have to say about a game before you buy it since Gamestop doesn't let you return a new game if it sucks. If you pre-order you get it at launch and then you have to worry about if it is bad or not.
The price of the game you are getting is not changing by pre-ordering it. The only thing they have differ from buying it without pre ordering is you may miss out on free goodies such as weapon packs, map packs, etc.Do you think pre ordering games is a waste of money?
no, because when you pre order something you are guaranteed to get it but you may miss out on it if you do not pre order and also pay more than you wanted.
