Is horse and dog racing a more reliable way to win money than casino games?

Just wondering.. I seem to have a lot more consistent 'luck' winning money on horse or dog racing than when I'm playing ANY game at the casino.. What your experience? ThanksIs horse and dog racing a more reliable way to win money than casino games?
The answer is Yes. Although the %age take is higher than on, say, roulette, it is possible to know something more about a horse or a dog than the person who lays the odds whereas it is NEVER possible to know anything about a random game of chance. If people say they make money at blackjack or poker you have to believe them as such games are not devoid of skill but you are ALWAYS, in blackjack at least, betting against the odds whereas that does not necessarily apply in horseracing as, to quote an extreme example, on 8 September 2010 I bet at 66-1 (i.e.16.5 -1 for a first 4 place) on a horse which next day went off 3rd fav. to win at 8-1. Unfortunately it lost.Is horse and dog racing a more reliable way to win money than casino games?
Well, it's all gambling, so it's never really "reliable." However, casino games are more about your luck... in roulette, you're just betting on a number and hoping it comes up. Even games of skill in casinos like poker and blackjack are dependent on the perfect card coming up at the perfect time.

If you know what you're looking for in the past performances, know jockey and trainer angles, understand workout times, and are familiar with what to look for in horse flesh, then you can be pretty successful. Still, a horse sometimes seems like a lock and the horse you backed could turn up lame, jockey could fall off, etc. So nothing is certain, but people do make a living betting on horses, so if you're good at it, it's much more reliable than putting chips on the roulette wheel. Is horse and dog racing a more reliable way to win money than casino games?
The real fact is that the only consistent winner at any form of gambling is the man with the book. At the casinos you will be asked quietly to leave should you be a card counter . At the races you're in the hands of whether any of the following want the horse to win
no, its not. though i enjoy betting the horses, i have made substantially more money at blackjack.
