Do video game manufacturers make money when games are sold at discount price?

If a person was to buy a game at a discount retailer as opposed to a full price store, will the game manufacturer still make the same amount of money?

If somebody wanted to support the game manufacturer, what is the best way for them to buy a game? At EB Games? Walmart? Discount seller on the internet?

Since I don't buy too many games anymore, when I do I'm trying to find a way to make sure my money goes back to the people whose ideas made the game.Do video game manufacturers make money when games are sold at discount price?
Here's how it works:

Game manufacturers sell their games to wholesale warehouses, who in turn sell their games to retailers (the place where you buy the games). What price tag retailers stick on their games has very little effect on how much money the manufacturers get.Do video game manufacturers make money when games are sold at discount price?
